چکیده
ruptured chordae tendineae. Pathologic examination revealed scarring and myxomatous degeneration of the mitral valve. The origin of the systolic murmur, mimicking that of aortic stenosis, is well documented to be due to a regurgitant jet striking the anterosuperior wall of the left atrium adjacent to the aorta, thus producing radiation toward the carotid arteriessm5 However, the cause of the diastohe murmur, mimicking aortic regurgitation, is not so well defined. Pulmonic insufficiency is made unlikely by the location of the murmur in the aortic region and by its timing, beginning before the pulmonic closure sound. Mitral flow murmurs tend to be rumbling and middiastolic, while the murmur in this case was high-pitched and early diastolic. Given the timing of the diastolic murmur, coincident with the continued early diastohc mitral prolapse, we believe the murmur was due to turbulence created by the flail leaflet describing a rapid movement from its prolapsed position in the left atrium to the open position in the left ventricle, in the face of the onrush of blood from a volume-overloaded left atrium in early diastole.

A Retroesophageal Right Subclavian Artery as the Last Branch of the Aortic Arch- In Vivo Case Report
Three major arteries normally originate from the aortic arch. Variations of the aortic arch branches are observed in some cases. Rare variation of the aortic arch branches is originated from the retroesophageal right subclavian (RRS) artery as the last branch of the aortic arch. Variation of artery is possibly associated with the variation of the recurrent laryngeal nerve. This research p...
متن کاملAnatomical Study of Subclavian Artery and Its Branches
Background: The branches of right and left subclavian arteries are important in conducting of blood to spinal cord, posterior cranial fossa, base of the neck, thyroid gland, wall of the thorax and abdomen. The routine use of internal thoracic artery as a conduit in coronary artery bypass grafting surgery requires appreciation of the anatomical variations of these vessels. So far, there is not a...
متن کاملThe Case Report of Variation in Subclavian Branches
The Subclavian artery is a major branch of the Aorta. In the left the subclavian artery arises from aortic arch, and in the right it arises from the Brachiocephalic trunk This artery passes from the subclavian groove on the first rib and continues as Axillary artery. The Subclavian artery has several branches that supply chest wall, Thyroid gland and cervical region. Several variations about th...
متن کاملA Case Report of Variant Origin of Left Vertebral Artery from Aortic Arch and its Embryological Explanation
Vertebral artery is the first branch of subclavian artery. It merges with the same artery of the opposite side to form basilar artery and becomes one of the important source of blood supply to the brain. Variation in the origin of left vertebral artery was found in 65 year old female during magnetic resonance angiography of the neck vessels. It originated from aortic arch and was longer as ...
متن کاملBilateral ductus arteriosus in d-transposition of the great arteries with right aortic arch.
The rare anomaly of a right aortic arch, distal origin of the left subclavian artery, and posterior left ductus arteriosus (forming a vascular ring) plus a right ductus arteriosus is described in an infant with d-transposition of the great arteries with an intact septum. The presence of a right aortic arch and distal left subclavian artery with bilateral ductus arteriosus has not been described...
